The Power of the Consumer

Learn About Wine: Wine in the Spotlight |

Recently we have asked one of our suppliers to produce a wine just for our customers. Domaine Sainte Rose in Languedoc, France produce a number of wines and we take a selection of them for our portfolio.
It came to our notice that no one was producing a French unoaked Chardonnay at an every day price point. So we asked Charles and Ruth Simpson of Domaine Sainte Rose if they would be able to re invent the Sirocco Chardonnay for us. Sirocco Chardonnay is an elegant chardonnay without any oak that Domaine Sainte Rose used to make 4 years ago. Much to our delight and the delight of many restaurants and individuals who are constantly on the look out for a light, fruit driven style of Chardonnay with out the clumsy use of oak one tends to get at the everyday drinking price point they agreed. So, for a mere £7.99 you can now enjoy a well made, balanced lighter style of Chardonnay from the Languedoc and leave the oak chipped heavy new world Chardonnay’s behind.
