Gin-tastic Cocktails!

Learn About Wine: Uncategorised |

Gin is an incredibly versatile spirit, and is the basis for some of the original, classic cocktails, and can be used for so much more than and G&T (we love those too, of course!)

See below for some suggestions for your next get together.

JN French 75

30ml of Shortcross Citrus Drizzle

Teaspoon of sugar

15ml of Lemon Juice

JN Sparkling to top

Pour the lemon juice, sugar syrup and gin into a cocktail shaker then fill up with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass. Top with JN Sparkling and garnish with a thin strip of lemon peel.

Basque Martini

50ml of Bodegas Astobiza Dry Gin

10ml Bodegas Astobiza White Vermouth

1 teaspoon of olive brine

1 olive to garnish

Add Gin, Vermouth and Olive brine to a mixing glass filled with ice. Resist the urge to utter “Shaken, not stirred” and proceed to stir the cocktail until the glass becomes icy cold. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an olive.

Shortcross Cask Aged Gin Negroni

30ml of Shortcross Cask Aged Gin

30ml of Quady Sweet Vermouth

30ml of Campari

Orange peel

In a mixing glass, combine equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth. Add ice and stir, strain into an ice filled tumbler and garnish with a swath of orange peel.

Kilbroney South Side Fizz

 50ml of Kilbroney gin

15ml of lime juice

15ml of simple syrup

2 sprigs of mint

Soda Water

Combine Gin, lime juice, 1 mint leaf and syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice, top with soda water and garnish with the second mint leaf.
