Busso Dolcetto D'Alba D.O.C. 2013
Bottle Price: £14.99 / €21.00 Offer Price: £12.74 / €16.47
Piero Busso is a passionate, outspoken and highly individual winemaker. His estate is located in the Piedmont region of north-west Italy (the vineyard landscape looks like a scene from Game of Thrones!). Wines made from Dolcetto grapes are very dark in colour with flavours of blackberry and liquorice. They are medium bodied, soft, approachable and easy to understand. A beautiful introduction to the fascinating world of Italian wine.
Busso Barbera D'Alba D.O.C. 2013
Bottle Price: £16.99 / €23.99 Offer Price: £14.45 / €18.35
Barbera is the most planted red grape variety in Piedmont and it’s a little less pernickety than Nebbiolo (the grape used in the king of Piedmont wines, Barolo) Busso’s Barbera appears dark in colour and charms with notes of black cherry, cassis, and dried herbs, all wrapped in a powerful full bodied framework. If Barolo is seen as the king of Piedmont, Barbera is the Queen. It is less expensive, hugely satisfying, and pairs with a huge range of food. Dare to drink different!
Both wines will be open for tasting in JN Wine on Saturday the 1st of October
