Tasting Notes from The Cloudy Bay Winery
Pale straw green in colour and enticingly fragrant, the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc offers lifted aromas of ripe stonefruit and juicy citrus with underlying notes of blackcurrant leaf and tomato plant spice. The palate is fine yet succulent, with zesty citrus flavours and fresh acidity. There is an appealing plushness about this wine especially as it leads into a lingering and characteristically crisp finish.
Although renowned for their Sauvignon Blanc don't forget their sumptuous 2009 Pinot Noir, the gently oaked Chardonnay, and the intriguingly different Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc.

A carefully selected mixed case of red wines created in this very appealing soft and fruity style. These wines are from a selection of grape varieties that are softer in style, generously fruity and low in tannin that make them very easy drinking. The wines are hand picked from all over the world and include delicious examples of a Chilean Merlot, French Pinot Noir, a very soft and young Spanish Rioja, a French blend, a Beaujolais, an Italian red from Tuscany and a red wine from the Lebanon. This is the perfect case for those who love this style of wine and are looking to expand their horizons and try new things or would make a great gift for wine-loving friends.
Full Bodied Reds
This mixed case is specially selected for style and quality. These are really interesting, lovely wines that showcase how different grape varieties and regions around the world are so well suited to this style of wine. The case includes two bottles each of a Spanish wine from the Ribera del Duero, an Argentinian Malbec, a French Mourvedre/Petit Verdot blend, a South African Bordeaux blend, an Australian Shiraz and a red blend from the Clare Valley in South Australia. These wines are all rich and full bodied with dense, dark flavours and become even more delicious with hearty food and a warming fire!
