We are delighted to introduce you to our first new arrival of 2014! We have long been a fan of the Pessac Leognon wines made by Olivier Bernard at Domaine de Chevalier, so were keen to taste his latest new addition. We were not disappointed.

"Sur ce terroir exceptionnel, je suis venu chercher de très grands fruits" Olivier Bernard
Clos des Lunes is the exciting new project of Olivier Bernard, proprietor of Domaine de Chevalier in Bordeaux.  His goal is to produce one of the best white wines to be currently available on the world market and this, the 2012, is his second vintage. The terroir’s 33 hectares encompass two distinct soil types: the deep gravels give the wine its power and the argilo-calcaire soil of Bommes endow the wine with freshness.

Lune d’Argent is a blend of 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon, partly fermented in cuve and partly in barrel (some new). It is ready to drink now but will keep for an additional 5 – 7 years. We are delighted to have received an allocation of this unique and highly sought-after wine which we are convinced will find many fans among our customers.

This is Robert Parker’s assessment:

Lune d’Argent, Clos des Lunes 2012 “The stunningly fleshy, floral, honeysuckle-scented 2012 Lune d’Argent exhibits medium to full body and good depth. A blend of 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc (13.5% natural alcohol), this is a new project from proprietor Olivier Bernard of Domaine de Chevalier. Both wines can be drunk now and over the next five years, 88 – 90 points" (Robert Parker Wine Advocate #206 Apr 2013 Parker)

Wine available while stocks last and limited to 1 case per customer.
