At the 2015 New Zealand International Wine Show over the weekend the 2013 Killerman’s Runs Shiraz picked up the Constellation Brands Trophy for Champion Commercial Red Wine to add to the Gold Medal award
The 2013 vintage was a very good one for reds in the Clare Valley. Warm days and cool nights promoted full fruit ripeness and flavour development whilst still retaining tremendous poise, natural acidity and tannin balance. An excellent year for enhanced cellaring potential. All of our Killermans’ Run range have been crafted through careful fruit selection, traditional winemaking techniques, sixteen months maturation in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads and bottling unfiltered to fully enhance the wines character and appeal.

Appearance: Brick red in colour with youthful crimson tints.
Nose: Smoky char notes and sweet berry compote feature brightly on the nose. Hints of black pepper, feral olives and a nice savoury twist.
Palate: Fleshy and textural on the palate with hints of cola, blackberries and sweet plums dominating the flavour profile. Fine tannins and subtle French oak char rounding out the long expressive finish.
