JN Gems under £15

We have put together 12 bottles of our best value and most popular everyday drinking wines. Whether you are looking for a wine to enjoy by yourself, with friends or with food, this selection of 6 red and 6 white wines covers all your needs.

That glass of wine at the end of the day is one of life’s little pleasures and this selection of wines hit that perfect point between value and quality that means you’re not spending a fortune but still getting something that really makes you smile and is genuinely a pleasure to drink.

These are wines that our customers come back to time and again and you’ll find in the fridges and wine racks of the JN staff.  They’re not mass produced industrial wines, they’re small production, made with care and attention and won’t make you feel the effects the next day.  That’s the ethos at JN Wine and these are some of the little treasures of our buying endeavours.

Hesketh Small Parcels Negroamaro 2016, £13.99

The Small Parcels range is dedicated to creativity. A lovely light-to-medium bodied aromatic summer red wine. Plenty of interest from the fresh fruit notes, lively acidity and touch of vanilla sweetness.

Finca Sophenia Reserve Malbec 2016, £13.59

Aged in French oak barrels for ten to twelve months, this wine is a deep red colour with violet hues. Complex aromas of plums, ripe cherries and violets are embellished by hints of dried fruits and minty nuances. Smooth, powerful and ultimately massively satisfying.

Boekenhoutskloof Wolftrap Red 2016, £9.50

The wine shows exceptional balance with fresh, integrated acidity. Plummy fruit and spice lingers on the finish.

Chateau Monconseil Gazin 2015, £11.95

Expressive nose of ripe fruits complimented by soft woody tones and hints of violet. Medium-bodied on the palate, with a perfect balance of ripe fruit, well-formed tannins and a refreshing finish.

Vinedos y Bodegas Dominio de Tares Baltos 2015, £12.79

Baltos seems to find favour with fans of the Pinot Noir grape, expect all the flavour encased in a more dense wine, very enjoyable.

Michele Biancardi Uno Piu Uno 2017, £10.95

This organic and simply delicious wine is incredibly versatile.  A robust and jammy wine with hints of tobacco, mocha and supple, dark berry fruit.  A must try!

Umani Rochi Vellodoro Terre di Chieti Pecorino 2017, £12.69

Intense aromas of fruit and flowers with very clear mineral notes on the nose and a good structure and pleasant freshness on the palate.

Domaine Negly Les Terrasses White 2016, £8.95

This easy-drinking white is a blend of 3 beautiful grape varities rarely seen together; Sauvignon – Muscat petits grains – Muscat of Alexandria. Each brings a refreshing and uplifting characteristic to the wine. Its striking fruitiness gives off hints of lychee and exotic fruits. The thirst quenching palate is lively and fresh.

Finca Sophenia 2 Torrentes Sauvignon Blanc 2017, £11.79

This blend of Torrontes and Sauvignon Blanc has citrus flavours such as pink grapefruit and lime combined with notes of white flowers. The palate is dominated by citrus and mineral notes that provide the characteristic freshness of high altitude wines

Journey’s End ‘Haystack’ Chardonnay 2016, £12.69

Clear and bright, straw with a hint of green. Oak and fruit are perfectly matched, each having its say without dominating; citrus peel and melon enriched by a subtle, savoury biscuit overlay. The limey acidity seamed through the fruit flavours gives food-friendly freshness and promises a few years’ ageing potential.

Vickery Watervale Riesling 2017, £13.99

An abundance of lovely Watervale aromas are prominent – fresh lemon-lime citrus, white honeysuckle and an intriguing creaminess.  Full-flavoured and generous, whilst still portraying a sturdy precision. Boasting flavours of creamy lemon curd and blossom with a soft-mineral acidity. Moreish finish.

Quinta Soalheiro Allo 2017, £10.39

A light fresh white that delights every time.  It is also low in alcohol so perfect for those long, sunny afternoons!
