New Zealand Tasting
Join us on Saturday 17th November as we celebrate wine of New Zealand.  We will have a large selection of red and white wines open for tasting in the Tasting Room in Crossgar from three of our finest producers including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.  Just call in between 12 and 5pm to sample and choose your favourite

  1. Cloudy Bay
Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into Marlborough. At the time, it was almost an unimaginable place to set-up a vineyard. But Cloudy Bay’s founder - David Hohnen - was convinced of its potential to produce great wine and invested in the best land of the region. Since then, Marlborough has risen to become New Zealand’s leading wine region, as well as one of the finest winemaking locations in the world. Cloudy Bay has since built a reputation for refined, elegant wine.  The Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc has been hugely popular for many years, becoming one of the most famous Sauvignon Blanc's in the New World.

2. Dog Point Wine
The Dog Point wines have been charming their way into the affections of JN staff and customers alike since their arrival. The vineyard combines the considerable wine growing experience of former Cloudy Bay personnel Ivan Sutherland and James Healy. Dog Point vineyards are certified organic under the BioGro New Zealand Programme which is an independent certification process established to promote environmentally friendly, sustainable and responsible practices. These organic philosophies drive our approach to wine making and help ensure the vines are at their best for next year's harvest.  This focus is expertly partnered with a low interventionist ethos. Fruit is hand-picked from low cropped, estate grown vines, then hand crafted with great care to produce fine wines that are accessible and enjoyable with cellaring potential. All wines are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free.

3. Forrest Estate
Doctors John and Brigid Forrest are Forrest, a small, very much 'hands-on" producer of premium quality wine from their home vineyards in Marlborough. Everything that is good about Marlborough is encapsulated in this range of wines. Fresh, flavourful and pristine with a strong sense of place, these wines express the best, both the grape variety and what the region has to offer.  The first vintage for Forrest Wines came in 1990 and this family owned and managed vineyard have gone from strength to strength ever since.
