Here is a selection of perfect white, rose and red wines that are fresh, vibrant and full of flavour and perfect for Spring. These are great on their own as a great glass to have as you enjoy the warmer sun and longer evenings.


Quinta Soalheiro Allo 2018    


Produced by Quinta Soalherio in Portugal and named from the first two letters of the grapes used in making the wine, ALvarinho and LOureiro. A wine that is a great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc. It has hints of tropical fruits running throughout with well-structured citrus notes on the finish. At only 11%Alc this wine is great as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with seafood.


Domaine de La Chauviniere Clos Les Montys 2018


This is a wine of soft character, which shows a true expression of its terroir. The Melon de Bourgogne grape matures slightly later than usual, resulting in an ample and harmonious and crisp finish. Muscadet (Melon) is a wine for those who love that lighter bodied style wine with delicate fruit notes. Fresh green fruit, with a fascinating almost saline-like quality to the taste. Notes of mandarin and dried fruit appear on the palate, making this Muscadet more complex than the average. Beautiful with shellfish, especially oysters.

Produced in the Polish Hill region in Clare Valley. This wine is a brilliant pale green hue in the glass. A nose characterised by fresh citrus zest and hints of wet stone, which develops on the palate with a bristling spine of acidity that brings the wine to life and highlights a core of pure fruit and exhilarating minerality.

Forrest Estate The Doctors Sauvignon Blanc 2018     


The Doctor’s range of wines from Forrest Estate are named after the Owners Dr John and Dr Brigid Forrest. These wines have been masterfully made by slowing the vines ability to make sugar, but not its ability to make flavour. A delicious full flavoured Sauvignon Blanc, with flavours of Passion Fruit, red capsicum with a slight citrus finish, all this with only 9%Alc.

Nothing says spring like a great glass of rose. Grown on the Ventoux Mountains in the south of Rhone this is blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah produce a crisp wine with beautiful notes of Wild Strawberry and Peach. The perfect glass of wine to help unwind on a bright spring day.


Forget-Brimont Brut Premier Cru Rosé NV     


A wine that is made for Spring, this Champagne is a bright with luscious fruit on the nose raspberries, strawberries with hints of ripe cherries and vanilla. Carries through to the pallet with a beautiful creamy feel as the bubbles coat the mouth.


Domaine Gayda Cepage Grenache 2017


A wine that shows great freshness and vibrant deep red fruits with a more medium bodied structure. light tannins with a great mouth feel finish. Grenache as a grape is more often used as a blending grape in the Rhone region of France, but from this region of Languedoc is shows so well as a single varietal. Cherries, red currant with herbs on the nose, full flavour on the palate with even a slight spice on finish.

From the Beaujolais region of France this wine is perfect for any light lunch, be it a delicate salad, fish, poultry or beef dish. A rich wine that displays beautiful soft red berry fruits with good soft tannins that add perfect structure and texture to the wine. As it is made from a light red grape (Gamay) this wine can be served with a little chill to it, just 30 minutes in the fridge before opening will aid in the wine showing its full character.


Alejandro Fernandez Dehesa La Granja Cosecha 2013


A wine with depth and big full flavours, this is a perfect match for any lamb dish. From the Castilla y León region of Spain made by the excellent Alejandro Fernandez, this wine is bursting with warming flavours of stewed black fruits, deep cherries, nutmeg, coconut, vanilla and liquorice, with hints of caramel on the finish. This is a full-bodied wine with smooth luscious tannins that come together beautifully in and when paired with any hearty meat dish it just raised the wine to a whole other level.

A new addition to our JN portfolio that the staff cannot recommend enough. From Nelson in New Zealand, this is a wine that has amazing wild fruits and brambles flavours throughout. A very soft and delicate wine that has great freshness and vibrancy with a long complex finish. A great alternative to the classic Burgundian Pinot Noir, not as much of the savoury notes but has the bright red fruits and acidity.
