A Crossgar wine merchant has became the first company to chalk up 20 category wins at the world’s largest annual wine contest.
JNwine clinched the record in the Regional Wine Merchant of the Year (NI) category at the International Wine Challenge held in London. The company, which supplies many of Ireland’s finest restaurants and hotels, has successfully defended the title for eight consecutive years.
Judged by the world’s leading authorities on wine, the competition draws entries from supermarkets; agents; on-trade suppliers; mail order; online; independent and high street retailers across the UK. Each company is evaluated on the variety and quality of wines, customer promotions, innovation and future strategy.
JNwine Managing Director, James Nicholson, said receiving the award was an honour for his team and a result of dedicated customer service:
“Gaining recognition from the International Wine Challenge and securing our place among the very best in the industry has always been important for us. This achievement is a fine reward for all our team and the hard efforts that have helped us stay at the very front of a competitive market.
“Customer demands are continuing to change and our clients are more discerning about the wines they enjoy. We’ve listened carefully to what they want and crafted our product knowledge and customer understanding into our strongest asset.”
