Domaine Saint-Denis Macon Lugny 2013, Burgundy, France
Hubert Laferrère farms his estate organically and his Macon Lugny is understated, but beautifully balanced, with a bouquet of peach and citrus and a fine minerally finish.
Beauregard Pouilly Fuissé 2014, Burgundy, France
A delightful example of this classic white Burgundy with white flowers on the nose and honey and grapefruit flavours on the palate.
André Dézat Pouilly Fumé 2015, Loire, France
Sancerre may be better known but its neighbour Pouilly Fumé should not be overlooked. 100% Sauvignon Blanc combining classic gooseberry flavours with herbal, nettle and elderflower undertones. Great with seafood.
Gayda Chemin de Moscou 2013, Languedoc, France
Power meets finesse in this blend of old vine Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault from the terraced vineyards of the Gayda estate in Languedoc. Excellent with beef.
Château Dutruch Poujeaux 2012, Bordeaux, France
From the Medoc in Bordeaux, a Cabernet dominant claret, with some Merlot and a dash of Petit Verdot. Classic, cassis and cedar with a firm structure. Great with Christmas roasts.
Roger Sabon Lirac Chapelle de Maillac 2013, Rhône, France
Lirac borders the Chateauneuf du Pape vineyards and shares the dense dark fruit character with flavours of herbs and white pepper. Grenache dominant with Syrah, Mourvèdre and a touch of Carignan.
