Domaine de L’Aurage

Domaine de l’Aurage is the third Bordeaux vineyard owned by the Mitjavile family. 2007 was the debut vintage for the Château.

The vineyards are owned by Louis and Caroline Mitjavile.

It was previously bottled under the name Château Cadet before it was purchased by the Mitjavile family and changed to Domaine de l’Aurage.

 

 

 

L’Aurage's vines are 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, although Cabernet Franc is diminishing and re-plantings are all Merlot.

The terroir is a combination of limestone and clay soils, very similar to those just across the border in St. Emilion.
